Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s is a rumored smartphone that is said to be the successor to last year’s Mi Mix 2. The device has been making rounds in rumours and leaks but nothing much is known about its specifications. However, thanks to a tipster on Twitter named @MMDDJ_ we may now have some leads on the processor details of the device.
According to the tipster’s post on the microblogging platform, Mi Mix 2s will feature Qualcomm’s flagship processor for 2018, the Snapdragon 845. The processor has not yet debuted in any of the smartphones and is being said to come with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 at MWC 2018 conference on February 25.
Interestingly, the Twitter handle says “MIX2S world 1st SD845 smartphone,” indicating it to be the world’s first smartphone to feature the processor. If this is true, we may expect the smartphone to arrive even before the Galaxy S9 – which means earlier than February 25. If the handset maker is naming the device as ‘Mi Mix 2s’ instead of the Mi Mix 3, there may not be many upgrades as compared to the Mi Mix 2.
The smartphone was recently leaked in an image, showing the front side. In the image, the Mi Mix 2s is seen sporting an iPhone X-like notch on top, which will be missing from the Mi Mix 2 . The notch, however, is shorter in length as compared to the iPhone X, leaving more area for the display on either side. A small LED notification light is also seen placed inside the Mi Mix 2s’ notch. The legitimacy of the image is yet to be confirmed.
For reference, the Mi Mix 2 is a 5.99-inch full HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, clubbed with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. There is a 12MP rear camera with Sony IMX386 sensor along with a 5MP front facing camera.
