Today, I felt like re-living my childhood days. I was feeling giddy and happy when I was reading a story book. So I thought of sharing some famous book series for your kids at home. I am sure they will enjoy reading them because I did!
These books not only improve vocabulary of your children but also help them fantasize. Sharing you the list of storybooks as follows:
Goosebumps – It is a series of horror fiction authored by R.L. Stine. The first book was “Welcome to Dead House” where Amanda and Josh have just moved into a new house (which is old) and they think its wierd & haunted. R.L. Stine’s first Goosebumps story started in 1992 and he writes till present.
The Famous Five – It is a children’s adventure novel written by English novelist Enid Blyton. The first book “Five on a Treasure Island” was published in 1942. The book series features character Julian, Dick, Anne and Georgina (George) – and George’s dog Timmy. In fact, there were other adaptation of this series like film, television, comic drama, etc.
The Secret Seven – The Secret Seven revolves around seven detective children who solve mystery. The Secret Seven consists of Peter (the head), Janet (Peter’s Sister), Jack, Barbara, George, Pam, Colin, and Peter’s dog Scamper. The short stories by Blyton was started in 1947 and there is also a French series of the book.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid – It is a series of fiction stories written by American author Jeff Kinney. All the books consists of a journal of main character Greg Heffley. Kinney first started by making his story online. On getting positive reviews then he went on to get his stories printed. His first printed story was in 2007 “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”.
The Hardy Boys – The story targets children and teens solving mystery. It is curated by Franklin W. Dixon. However the character Frank and Joe Hardy was created by American writer Edward Stratemeyer. The first appearance of Hardy Boys was made in 1927. In 1959, the book was rigorously revised.
Harry Potter – This name is on every kid’s fingertips. Written by J.K. Rowling, a series of 7 books talks about the young wizard kid Harry Potter, and his friends Hermoine & Ron. Since its release in 1997, the book has gained a lot of appreciation and acceptance by young & adults. Movies have been made on all the series as well. The book have also been printed in 73 languages.
The Chronicles of Narnia – It is series of 7 fantasy novel by writer C.S. Lewis. One of the best classic book of Lewis and has been sold over 100 million copies in 47 different languages. The story revolves around fantasy world of magic, mythical beasts, and talking animals, the series narrates the adventures of various children who play central roles in the unfolding history of that world. The first book “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” was published in 1950.
The Adventures of Tintin – Who does not love comic? Especially kids are fond of it. Less to read and more to see. It is 24-series of cartoon comic created by Georges Remi. It is about the main character Tintin and his adventures. This comic album has been printed in 70 languages and sold over 200 million copies.
Nancy Drew – Authored by Carolyn Keene since 1930. There have been many series of Nancy Drew under different names. “Nancy Drew Mystery Stories” is the long-running “main” Nancy Drew series followed by “Nancy Drew Diaries” then “Nancy Drew: Girl Detective”, and “The Nancy Drew Files“.
